worth the effort

Well the effort was worth it (the beginning had a heroic feeling to it with the string melody and the trumpet sounds.) I liked how it suddenly ended and went to sad music (good piano btw.) And then the strings get the piano melody with the fade in (don't want to be a douche here but it would have sounded better if the piano did a fade out with the strings doing the fade in.) The chorus voices where freaking awesome for this style of music (once again the quick stop.) And then back to the string melody but this time with trumpets (pretty awesome.) The sudden ending of the song fitted the endings of the different parts of the song. Overall its an epic song (in sound and proportion.) 5/5

pretty good

yeah this was pretty good. The melody in it was pretty awesome, would fit as a ringtone (but i agree if you master this it would sound better.)

Thank you sir. :)

a good listen

sounds very natural (and technological) at the same time. I like the weird bird and sound effects that build the atmosphere the melody was pretty simple and enjoyable the synth note was pretty nice to add in the background and the bass fitted which is always good.

thanks!

Awesomeness

Damn this one was not what I was expecting. It sounds like a musical Asian festival being played in New York City. Good choice of instruments and nice percussion. Damn it gets better around 0:52 (EMOTIONS!) Badasstry is what this song is...i like the use of clave. Like ending drums. Sick (which means a well deserved 5/5.)

MJTTOMB responds:

RESPECT THE CLAVE

That is all.

Almost happy ending :)

Yes (the darkness feeling it has.) Good melody (so far.) Yes happy around 0:50 for a second (maybe to transition to the high notes.) Around 1:04 it got very mystical only to drop to more darkness (pretty cool.) Picked up pace around 1:40 (yay for the arpeggios once again.) I like the soft melody. Like the change from the arpeggio to another different thing near the middle and how it led to some type of chase sound (only to change to happy once again around 3:07.) I like the happy sound near the 3:00s (good chord use.) I like the almost happy ending and for some reason it does sound like it could loop well (imo.) Complete the word emo_ _ _ _ _ _.

MJTTOMB responds:

emo....

tional!

haha, thanks for the review man, great review.

sick middle

Classical music mixed with jazz is the feeling i got from this. The drums in my opinion where low but it sounds good (in the middle the piano line got very happy, your structure is sick man, in a positive way of course.) definitely a 5/5.

MJTTOMB responds:

My structure's got the swine flu. it's all ofer that stuff man. :P

Haha, thanks

Kind of Happy Ending :D

More volume than the others and pretty awesome in its own way (more full of energy than the other darkness ones.) I like the rhythm it has. Awesome from heavy to low (not a bad idea.) Pretty sweet little track (yay for happy ending.)

MJTTOMB responds:

I really like this one. I totally stole the chord progression from pachelbel.

Thanks!

sad in a kind of happy way

Sad (even if in a very more happy tone...) like the rhythm it has near the begging and how you switch around the 0:30s (to arpeggios :D) quick awesome song in my opinion.

MJTTOMB responds:

Now that you've listened to the whole suite, you'll notice that this piece is essentially a mix of all the other pieces in the suite. :)

weird

somewhere underneath the seemingly moaning sounds (which i always associate with Aphex) is a pretty good song. I like the (almost) lack of breaks in it from beginning to end. It contains good melody and its pretty *check title.* 5

ha, well put, my good friend.
personally, i think the beats are a little jumpy, but ill fix it,
it is a WiP, so yeah.
i listened to more of your stuff, and its actually really good sounding!

Artistic---The Big Ship

i like the sound diminishes and increases near the beggining (it gave it a type of modernistic feeling by making some notes longer.) It had that kraftwerk feeling to it which i congratulate you on. I like how the drum starts and the synths so far (has that type of space feeling.) Nice melody. It also has a type of brian eno feeling to it. Good instrument choice (and very minimal.) Yay glitch sounds starting around the 3:40s. I like how you finished it with the peaceful synths. For me it had that Eno feeling to it (as stated above.) I also noted the song goes from low sound to high sound to low sound it keeps a type of wave motion (good for ambient.) Its synth goodness...deserves a 5.

midimachine responds:

I think I'd been listening to a lot of Eno and also Autechre and stuff at the time, thanks for the review :)
